Whilst there is no general legal obligation to hold professional indemnity insurance and few clients will request it, PI is essential to ensure the protection of those individuals or organisations that provide any sort of service to their customers. Examples of the type of work that requires professional indemnity includes but isn’t limited to project management, NDT inspection, electrical design, inspection and installation as well as any design or general supervisory work 

A quotation for professional indemnity is based on the type and amount of work that is undertaken coupled with the expertise that the business has in the sector.
